Welcome to Vero Beach!

We are a small community with a large group of opera lovers, and we usually sell out our 1,000 seat auditorium for our operas. We often cast our operas directly from the relationships we make with our Rising Stars! 

That said, most of our annual season ticket holders are seasonal residents and many have left town by mid-April. Therefore, you will probably look out Friday evening at the concert and see a small house. We encourage you to shine your brightest anyway, because we are professionally videotaping and photographing the concert, and will put it out on YouTube. Past Rising Stars RAVE about how our marketing tools help them promote their careers.

IMPORTANT: PARKING!

The VBHS Performing Arts Center is within a school which is in session! Therefore, when arriving before 2 pm, please park across the street in the field. Follow the blue line to the back stage door in the photo. The VBHS Performing Arts Center address is 1707 16th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.

Weds., April 16 

Starting at 12 NOON:
1) Report & Sign-in at Registrar’s table in the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center Green Room (ID required).
2) Contestants will fill out required W9 forms at this time.
3) Contestants will turn in their 3-ring binders containing the printed sheet music for each of their 5 arias. If there are any cuts, variations, or other liberties taken, the sheet music should be clearly marked.
4) Contestants will each have one-on-one rehearsal time with the Pianist on a first-come-first-served basis in order of check in.
2 PM: All Contestants must be signed in at the Registrar’s table by 2 PM.
3 PM – 5 PM: Semi-Finals Round. Each Contestant will sing 2 arias from their 5 submitted opera arias repertoire list. Contestant will choose the 1st aria, the Jury the 2nd. The dress code is semi-formal.
All semifinalists will advance to compete in the finals round, Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Friday, April 18, 2025
No later than 6 PM: Report & Sign-in at Registrar’s table in the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center Green Room (ID required).
7 PM: Rising Stars Season Finale Concert begins. All contestants must be present and ready to perform. Each contestant will perform two arias of their choice. Winners will be announced, and Prizes awarded at the end of the Rising Stars Concert. Dress code is Formal.
