Homestay Hosts: Our Heroes!

Each season, Vero Beach Opera Homestay Hosts open their homes to provide accommodations to our visiting artists. This helps us bring in the best artists in larger numbers because we don't have a lodging expense, AND it’s really fun and enriching for both the hosts and the artists.

We had a total of 19 host families participating in hosting the 2025 season. They hosted a total of 45 artists for 270 comparable room nights. This season we had 12 hosts for LA TRAVIATA, who hosted 19 artists for a total of 139 room nights; 1 host for the LOVE CONCERT in February, who hosted all 3 artists for a total of 6 room nights; 11 hosts for 16 artists for I PAGLIACCI in March, for 97 room nights; We had 8 RISING STARS who requested homestay, 1 dropped out due to illness- they 7 artists stayed with 5 homestay hosts for a total equivalent of 28 room nights. Over the past eight seasons, Homestay Hosts have saved Vero Beach Opera 1,645 nights of lodging expenses.
